Devices using a private Wi-Fi address will connect to your Plume network. However, to get the best Plume experience and guarantee device-level security and controls, we recommend you turn off Private Wi-Fi addresses and revert to your original address when connecting to your home network.
How to turn off Private Wi-Fi address in iPhone iOS 14 and later
- Open the Settings app, then tap on Wi-Fi.
- Tap on the information button
next to your Plume network name.
- Tap on the Private Address toggle to turn it off, a message will pop up to rejoin the network.
- The iPhone will briefly disconnect and then reconnect using the original hardware Wi-Fi address.
Once connected back to your Plume network using the original Wi-Fi address, any of the previously personalized device or person level features such as Online protection, Content access controls, Internet freeze, and People at Home will be applied to the device again.
Note: These settings will only be saved for your Plume network and your iOS device will continue to protect your privacy by using a Private Wi-Fi address when connecting other networks.
