Turning off the Wi-Fi on your existing wireless router will help improve the performance of your HomePass WiFi network by reducing channel utilization. Turning the old WiFi off will also avoid confusing your devices.
BT Smart Hub or Ultrafast Smart Hub
- Open a browser and enter the IP address 192.168.1.254 to access the Hub Manager
- Click on Advanced settings and then Wireless
- Enter your user name and password. The defaults are found on the back of the device.
- Click on Wireless switch and set it to Off. This will turn off both radios.
- Click on Save
BT Home Hub 4 and 5
- Open a browser and enter the IP address 192.168.1.254 or https://bthomehub.home to access the Home Hub Manager
- Click on the Settings tab
- Enter your Hub Manager password. The defaults are found on the back of the device on the pull-out settings card
- Go to Advanced Settings and click on the Continue to Advanced Settings button
- Click on the Wireless tab and then the 2.4GHz Wireless option
- In the Wireless network enable setting. Switch the radio button to NO
- Click Apply at the bottom of the page
- Click on Yes to continue
- Click on the Wireless tab and then the 5GHz Wireless option
- In the Wireless network enable setting. Switch the radio button to NO
- Click Apply at the bottom of the page
- Click on Yes to continue
BT Home Hub 3
- Open a browser and enter the IP address 192.168.1.254 to access the Hub Manager
- If this is the first time you've opened the Hub Manager, you'll be asked to change your password. Please follow the instructions on the screen
- Click on Settings and then Wireless
- Enter your user name and password. The defaults are found on the back of the device.
- Set the Broadcast SSID switch to Off. This will turn off both radios.
- Click on Apply
